Phones come and go, and even though the X5 pro is far from anything revolutionary, it is in its simplicity where it shines. You get so much for the small price tag, and everything just works. Big names always push out the newest, brightest most sparkling features, but we have reached a point where the core features of the average phones contain everything you need. We have actually reached a point where in order to sell new phones, Apple (and probably Google too) has been caught pushing out software updates to old phones which renders them close to useless, in order to incentivise buying new phones. With those factors in mind, the Soul X5 Pro is so satisfying simply because it works. You get so much for the low price tag, and I never expected this small company to set up the phone as beautifully as they did, but they have! Everything is gorgeous, from the backgrounds and lock-screen interface, to the quick settings. All the smart features that Allview has included are so cool and so satisfying because, again, they work! Whereas on my old Sony Xperia X I had to try at least 4 times unlocking the phone with my fingerprint, I never try more than twice with the X5. Though I rarely have to use my fingerprint, the face-recognition works flawlessly, even in low or confusing lighting thanks to the 16mp camera, I presume.
I am also happy to report that while some phones (Ulephone T1, Umi, Dogee, ++) have a fake dual camera setup, where only one of the lenses are an actual camera, the other is just a fake, the X5 has a real dual camera setup, and the bokeh-results are beautiful. My only complaint is that the AVI voice assistant is not so fluent in English, but I hope that in time this will improve, as I understand it is mainly for Romanian costumers.
Also, the phone is just so pretty, and it feels great in my hand. The size is perhaps a bit too much, I do find myself doing some finger gymnastics when using one hand, but I really love the size when watching videos.
A very low price-tag. Satisfying performance. Great features. Stunning design and build quality. Fast charge-time. All in all, I will be satisfied for a while to come, and I recommend this phone to every average user like myself. This Soul X5 Pro is pure satisfaction. (Posted on 7/20/2018)
